For a Carrier system, that is the in-home load analysis, which tells us what your house needs rather than what a similar house down the street got.
The reasoning is practical. A unit that is too small never keeps up on a Spring afternoon in August, and one that is too big cycles on and off before it can do its job. Getting this step right is the difference between a system that quietly works and one you call us about again.

Reading SEER2, and what the warranty covers
SEER2 is the efficiency rating on a system, and it can range anywhere from 14 to 43. The number on the Energy Guide often looks different from what your dealer quotes. The reason is that a system is rated as a matched combination of outdoor and indoor equipment, so the quote reflects what is actually going into your house, not one half of it.
Every installation carries a 3 year labor warranty, which is three times the industry standard, plus a 10 year parts warranty. Estimates are free.
